Well only had one night to create a brand for myself ... one thought ... " AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHGHHGHHH!!!" ... one of the things I find the hardest is designing for myself as it's a no limit totally open brief that even i'm not sure of... then on top of that I have to design it in a certain style... but I have developed a really versatile design style over the years so I can pretty much do anything a client asks for so showcasing that as one package???.... so I have to combine that in this ... fcuk... in a big way... anyway after hours of tearing out my hair, cranberry juice, cigarettes, lots of loud rock and a curry... tadaa... got to finish this about 4 am this morning, luverly.
I didn't really realise what my subconscious was doing ... but rather, just let it get on with it, as i'm sure it knew more about what was going on inside my tumultous mind. So in the end it transpires that I was trying to create an adaptation of two styles, my heavy, quite expressive, complex style, using photos, patterns and light... then I wanted the viewer to get the impression that once they open this ageing tome, there's a breath of fresh air as they are greeted by clean lines and nice open space...
Very impressive
I'm going through a similar process, converting a .doc CV into something more exciting, so was interesting seeing your approach. You seem to have got the balance between graphics and information just right.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A Zen feature for you restless souls out there. A collection of specially selected photographs from nov - des, show them some love And remember, being an artist is not just about producing art, but about appreciating other peoples artwork to
